A Checklist for answered prayer 16-20

      If your prayers aren’t being answered, here’s another portion of the checklist for understanding why;

16. Answers to prayer can be lost

  • Receiving the answer vs maintaining the answer
  • Abraham “be followers of those who through faith and patient endurance are inheriting the promises ” Heb.6:12 YLT
  • Praise and thanksgiving in addition to asking
  • The ten lepers healed “as they went ,” Lk.17:14-19 KJV,

17. Answers to prayer involve frustration

  • Importunate widow’s continuous appeal, Lk.18:1-8
  • Matt 7:7 ask, seek, knock (GK present continuous tense)
  • Never give up

Answers to prayer require persistence

18. Answers to prayer involve discouragement

  • David’s documented ups and downs
  • Emotions are the energy for prayer, every one of them.  “Get them out! ” “Get them to God!”
  • God can handle your real feelings, He’s waiting for them.
  • The Psalms give wings to our feelings converting them into prayers.
  • Discouragement can abort answers to prayer
  • The Holy Ghost is “The Comforter ” who helps our weaknesses with “groanings which cannot be uttered “ Rom.8:26.

  • Avenge me of my adversaries ” Lk.18:3, Importunate widow
  • Imprecatory Prayers-Psalm 69

Answers to prayer require militants

20. Answers to prayer involve remembering

  • God builds on past experiences, “from Glory to Glory,” ” from Faith to Faith,”  Rom.5:1-5
  • “Beware lest you forget God “  Deut.8:11
  • “And you have forgotten…” Heb.12:5
  • Keep a personal diary of past “come throughs”
