Spiritual Warfare
“thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, in earth as it is in Heaven,” is a militant war cry. It’s the invasion that Christ ordered us to call in upon this enemy territory that we now occupy. Its a now action, as we anticipate the manifestation of His ultimate outcome.
“God’s in control,” is a qualified statement in the midst of this current state of spiritual conflict. In warfare there are battles, victories, defeats, deceptions, espionage, casualties, POWs, advances, strategic retreats etc. Paul said, “we wrestle.” He even spoke of “the messenger of Satan that buffeted him.” Obviously, this implies other factors than just “God’s in control.” It implies conflict and challenges, and objectives that need to be taken and held.
“God’s in control,” thinking, when misapplied, becomes Satans stealth. It’ can be like disinformation in counter intelligence used to mislead into spiritual sleep and passivity. We prevail by staying alert and “on guard.” [1]Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary, the Devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist steadfast in the faith,”
Our orders are, “intercede,” “bind,” “loose,” “resist,” “shine,” “go”, “preach,” “baptize,” “heal,” “cleanse,” “raise,” “cast out,” “make disciples,” “fight the good fight” and most importantly, “believe !”
Saber rattling quoting religious clichés doesn’t rattle the enemy. But “The kingdom of God and His will in earth,” is the Devils worst nightmare when the one calling it out is also the very earth it’s being manifested through.
Spiritual warfare is the call to action to secure the “immediate” spiritual objectives of today. Passivity forfeits them by default.
